Is there an Entrance Exam?
No. However, a placement test is given to incoming 9th grade students upon enrollment to accurately place students in academic classes.
Are extracurricular activities and sports offered?
Yes! Cristo Rey Tampa offers athletic teams and extracurricular activities. Additional clubs and activities are offered based on student interest and the availability of moderators. We are very proud and supportive of our students’ extracurricular efforts, it is essential to understand that academics and work always come first.

Students’ first commitment on the days they work is to their job, and they may not miss work to participate in sporting events or other activities. Likewise, students who are struggling academically will be placed in tutoring and may be ineligible for extracurricular opportunities until they improve their academic performance.

Is Cristo Rey Tampa co-ed?
Yes. Cristo Rey Tampa serves both young men and women.
Is there a uniform?
Yes, all students are required to report to school each day in the appropriate uniform. We are proud to partner with Educational Outfitters for school uniforms.
Do you need to be Catholic to apply?

No, we welcome students of all faiths and denominations. The school is open to all interested applicants and religious preference is not a factor in the admissions process. We pride ourselves on a diverse student and staff/faculty body. CRT is a Catholic institution that includes a four-year curriculum in religious studies in which all students are expected to participate. Regular liturgical celebrations, service projects, and spiritual retreats are also a component of our students’ education.

What is the average contribution paid by the family?
Parents/guardians pay as little as $65 a month, depending on the Step Up For Student guidelines, for their student to attend Cristo Rey Tampa High School. Families must first apply and qualify for the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship through Step Up For Students at www.stepupforstudents.org.

The Step Up For Students Scholarship award is unique to each family’s income. When the Step Up application period opens, applications are processed in the order in which they are received (including all supporting documentation). Scholarships are awarded with priority given to renewal families followed by new families with the greatest financial need.

Please contact our Office of Admissions at (813) 621-8300 xt. 111 for assistance.

Is transportation provided to students?
The before and after school services offered are based on need and distance from the school. The model used for before and after school transportation is called arterial transportation. Central pick-up and drop-off points are identified, and parents must get their students to and from these points. There is a fee for Cristo Rey Transportation before and after school of $200 a semester.

Transportation from CRT to the student’s workplace is provided daily.

Parents/guardians interested in signing up for carpool should contact Jose Montes, Transportation Manager, via email at jmontes@cristoreytampa.org.

When can I visit Cristo Rey Tampa?

We encourage families to visit our campus on Welcome Wednesdays and Open Houses held throughout the year.
Students are invited to participate in the Cristo Rey experience during the school day by attending our “Panther For A Day” shadowing program. Register online to reserve your spot.
