Dean of Student Growth John Davidson is no stranger to the spotlight. When Mr. Davidson is not at Cristo Rey Tampa Salesian High School, he is a Christian Rapper John Levi with FoundationNation who has played on stages all over the country. He has played at major events including World Youth Day and NCYC in front of thousands of fans even the Pope. He is married to Chantal and is a Dad of eight. To say he is busy is an understatement!

Mr. Davidson grew up in Tampa, graduating from Tampa Catholic High School. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of South Florida and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Nova Southeastern University.

He was made for this position and didn’t even know it. Mr. Davidson is quick to share, “God is guiding this…” and if you ask Mr. Davidson if he thought he would be the Dean of a new Catholic high school in Tampa, he would have said, “no way, but it is up to God.”  Well, God certainly had a plan for Cristo Rey Tampa Salesian High School and for Mr. Davidson to become the first Dean of Student Growth.

The Lord knew, as He always does, what He was doing when He led Mr. Davidson to Cristo Rey Tampa. As he recently shared in an interview with EWTN, he could identify with the students. “They all had similar backgrounds to me. I saw myself in every one of those kids over the past four years. God keeps outdoing himself,” said Davidson.

A father first, Mr. Davidson, has a passion for the Lord, music, and the students of Cristo Rey Tampa. He takes his cues from his own family and our Heavenly Father. We are thankful Mr. Davidson was led to be part of the Cristo Rey Tampa Salesian High School team.
