Congratulations to Joseph A.,’20, on his acceptance to The Academies at Harvard Summer Program – Coding Academy.
Joseph A.,’20, has been accepted to The Academies at Harvard Summer Program – Coding Academy. This prestigious program is for high-achieving students all over the world who want to expand their knowledge base by immersing themselves in an intensive study of computer science.
This summer program is a natural fit for a young man whose passion for computers and coding began in the eighth grade. Playing video games was the initial draw, but then computers and how to create the game piqued his interests. When asked why this summer program, Joseph shared, “This is right up my ally, and it will help set me apart from other applicants during college admissions.”
Joseph will spend July 8-12, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on the Harvard University campus where he will learn the fundamentals of computer coding through a curriculum designed by Harvard students. He looks forward to exploring college-life in Cambridge and visiting MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) when he is not in class. Joseph’s college goal is to major in Computer Science and develop video games with the help of his coding background and using his creative side.
Joseph is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dominick Alesandrini. He currently is a student worker at JP Morgan and previously worked at Ameriscape USA, Inc. When not studying for his AP courses or dual enrollment classes, he is active in CRT Campus Youth Ministry, Teens in Action, and is a member of the Boys’ Soccer Team. Joseph attended Villa Madonna Catholic School for elementary and middle school.
